Another Swanson River Silver

The second day in a row I was up about 5:15 a.m. and on the road by 6:00 a.m. to fish the Swanson River. Swanson River Road goes north from the Sterling Hwy. near Sterling, 20+ miles are gravel. It was a chilly 43 degrees this morning and many less mosquitoes, but the fishing was slower too. There were four other guys fishing and between us all we caught about 4 Silvers, 2 of which were too mature to keep. The other guys did catch some "jacks"(immature silvers that come up with the mature fish). The are also a lot of Dolly Varden and rainbow trout that steal your bait, once in a while you catch one, but mostly they are just bait stealers. While fishing I did see a family of River Otters, but they were too far away for a picture. Tonight I will grill up Silver Salmon for supper.
