July/August

It has been very warm the past several days with temperatures in the 70's and 80's, it is also very dry and there are burn restrictions in place again. It has been a good Red Salmon year in the Kenai River, consistent big runs have yielded good fishing results and our freezer is almost full, I am saving a little room in hopes of catching a few Silver Salmon. The last week we have seen a number of moose that are busy eating in preparation for winter. Our Wisconsin friends Les & Nancy pulled out yesterday to begin the journey back to Wisconsin, but not before doing some touring of Alaska. The wild cranberries are almost ripe and we should be able to pick some before we pull out sometime late August or early September.
